Lil Nas X's country trap viral hit "Old Town Road" was just streamed more times in a week than any other song ever.
But count Dave East in the quantity doesn't equal quality camp.
"This Old Town Road s*** ... Is f***ing wack. I don't know what the f*** is going with Hip Hop, with rap. I ain't no hater but this s*** is wack with a cape on it. It's super wack," East said while driving about.
East got some push back for that opinion on Twitter.
Dave East hasn’t created one song that’s better than Old Town Road. Opinion is voided. https://t.co/xGHqLnuL7h

Dave East tryna slander Old Town Road and I’m tryna remember if anybody has ever told me to put some Dave East on

I'm not gonna say Dave East is wrong about Old Town Road, but it's also kinda funny how a goofy meme track is bigger than anything he's done so far in his career.

Others rushed to his defense.
I can’t believe twitter dragging Dave East. That old town road really is wack. It’s not hip hop, it’s for these wave riding new niggas and white kids who wanna be down. And they keep saying “ i never heard a song from Dave East”. I suggest u listen to a song from Dave East then.

Here's the song in question.
Wack with a cape or nah?
As for Nas X ... he appeared to respond to East with a clip of Kevin Hart speaking on how it's cool to be a hater.
