Dave East is doing the media rounds for his album Survival.
During his chat with Big Boy, he was asked about his fellow New Yorker Tekashi 6ix9ine.
It turns out East met Daniel Hernandez before he became the troll rapper everyone loves to hate. [Jump to 53 minutes.]
"I met him though. He was with one of my homies. We was in the studio. He didn't have no tattoos, and no colorful hair. He had a regular haircut. He sat in the corner. He was a cameraman, he used to do videos. That's a fact. He just sat in the corner, didn't say nothing. He smoked, drank, real L7. Next time I seen him, he was the biggest Blood I ever seen. The biggest blood on Earth," East said, explaining he didn't realize it was the same person until somebody told him.
"I knew a lot of people in the video with him," continues Dave. "They was actually real right. They official. That's what threw me off. I was like why they with him? I know how they give it up. It's the money man, money's crazy. I know what I'm saying. Money and fame make people do things they wouldn't normally do."
East added he wasn't surprised 6ix9ine cut a deal with the government the day they took him in.
"If it ever went bad he was telling, for sure. He ain't from it, he didn't sign up for that. That's what you gotta understand. If it's somebody that come from that and know the rules. Like, I always explain this to people. We from the hood call people snitches. That's it. Nowhere else do they care ... You gonna tell any whoever you want. Go do a movie about it."
East went on to say that he personally doesn't care what happens to 6ix9ine when he gets out, likely on December 18. He predicts the industry will welcome him back with open arms, but the streets will never accept him.
