YNW Melly has been locked up since February 2019 on two counts of first-degree murder.

The 22-year old is accused of killing his crew members YNW Juvy and YNW Sakchaser and faces life imprisonment or the death penalty if convicted.  Melly had claimed that Juvy and Sakchaser got hit in a driveby.  However, prosecutors say that Melly snuffed them out from inside the car.

His COVID delayed trial begins on March 7.  DJ Akademiks has reviewed some of the information exchanged in supplementary discovery, which is where the prosecutors give the defense all the evidence they had yet to pass along as the trial gets underway.

Ak is a big Melly fan, but he regrets to inform you that the prosecutors have a lot of CSI-type goods on Melly and it's not looking good for the 22-year olds lifespan.

The State of Florida has 66 pages of DNA evidence that put Melly at the crime scene.  They also have a lot of damning info from Melly's phone.

“They said that Melly’s phone pinpointed him to around the area where the vehicle was traveling when they so-called got shot up,” Ak explained. “The ballistics of the ‘shooting’ show that all the shots came from Melly’s position in the car. They have surveillance footage basically showing Melly get into that car in that same position. They also have the ballistics from the ‘drive-by.'”

"And I don’t think the plea of insanity will work and to be honest, it’s clear the prosecutors and the police has a hard on. They want to get this guy in the execution chair," Ak concluded.
