More details are coming out about Drake suing Spotify and Universal

We already know that he's accusing the companies of using shady business practices to promote Kendrick Lamar's diss song against him, "Not Like Us."

Now, it's being revealed that Drake suffered financially from the song.

"Streaming and licensing is a zero-sum game," a petition reads. "Every time a song 'breaks through,' it means another artist does not. UMG’s choice to saturate the music market with 'Not Like Us' comes at the expense of its other artists, like Drake. As Drake is Petitioner’s sole owner, and Petitioner owns the copyright to Drake’s entire catalogue, Petitioner suffered economic harm as a result of UMG's scheme."

Drake also accused UMG of using payola to get "Not Like Us" played on radio and to keep their scheme going, they fired employees who were "associated with or perceived as having loyalty to Drake."

But some might say the suit will only bring more attention to "Not Like Us," and it would've been better for Drake to let its popularity die out, which seemed to be happening.

Now, though, the diss song is a major topic of discussion again. Do you think this lawsuit is a smart move?
