Honestly, Nevermind is the least successful album of Drake's career
If Ghanaian artist Obrafour wins the lawsuit he just filed against Drake, Drizzy may have been better off not dropping it all.
Obrafour is suing Drake for $10 million over what he says is a swiped sample on the track "Calling My Name".
At the 53-second mark, an African-sounding vocalist yells “Killer cut, blood, killer cut".
Obrafour says that is his line from his 2003 remix of “Oye Ohene".
Drake's team emailed him on June 8 and June 13 of 2022 asking him to use the sample.
He didn't respond to the emails, yet Drake still dropped the track on June 17
He's also suing Drake's record label and all of the many writers on the song. In addition to the $10 million, he wants the record sales, streaming, live performances, and other sources of revenue associated with "Calling My Name" and legal fees.
Seem like a big ask.
