E-40 wouldn't recommend saving a hoe. But the rap vet did bring the phrase "Captain Save A Hoe" into prominence with his 1993 hit of the same name.
According to TMZ, E-40 is now suing the author of a new book called Captain Save A Hoe. 40 says he owns the rights to the phrase and writer Erika Kane is unfairly profiting off of a character he created.
This isn't the first time somebody has tried to swipe words from 40 without attribution. Last year, Kodak Black and Lil Yachty argued over who was the first to start calling weed broccoli, only for E-40 to jump in and remind everyone he was doing that before the youngsters were even born.
In that case, there was no trademark or grounds for a lawsuit. This time around, he might get paid.
