'Empire' Actor Bryshere Gray Arrested After Nine-Hour Standoff with Police

Empire actor Bryshere Gray was arrested Monday on assault charges in Goodyear, Arizona after having a nine-hour standoff with police.

The cops arrived at Gray's home Sunday night in response to a female victim being assaulted by her husband. The woman said she was strangled and temporarily lost consciousness. She was eventually taken to a hospital, treated and released. 

Gray, who played Hakeem Lyon on the show, wouldn't come outside when police arrived and barricaded himself in the house. 

SWAT and crisis negotiators had to intervene, and Gray surrendered about 7:00 a.m. on Monday. He was then taken to Maricopa County Jail and booked on charges of felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor assault and misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

No word if bail has been set yet.
