Fabolous recently sat down with the drunkards of Drink Champs to discuss his career.
He explained how during his come up around 1999 he paid a hefty price for a Lil Wayne feature for a track that never came to be.
As Fab told N.O.R.E. and DJ Efn, Wayne was at the height of his Hot Boy's fame when this went down and Weezy moved in a way that blew Loso's mind. [Jump to the 1-hour fifteen-minute mark.]
"I even did a song with Lil Wayne that never come out. That's a funny story. They were so hot at the time," Fab explained. "They came to the studio. I think Steve Stoute gave them 100 grand for Lil Wayne. They were scorching. This Cash Money in like '99. For the 99 and the 2000. Give them 100 ... they requested four bottles of Cristol ...
So the four bottles is there. We in the studio. We thinking that four bottles of Cris means they gonna come in, we gonna vibe, drink some champagne. Wayne came in there, did his verse in 15 minutes, they was out. Took the four bottles with them. That's like my first time even seeing something like that. I'm like, 'This sh*t different.' They jumped off a tour bus, came in there, Wayne recited his verse 2 or 3 times. Good. Took the bottles with them. 'You ain't gonna pop one? "
It goes without saying that Birdman took the 100K. Do you think he took the four bottles of Cris, too?
