Fat Joe was a key figure in ending the infamous East Coast, West Coast beef in the '90s.

He talked about his role during an interview on Big U's Checc'n In podcast and mentioned Ice Cube. According to Joe, he told the legendary West Coast rapper that he should be doing more to squash things. [Jump to the 11:49 mark]

“You should have been the n*gga trying to bring the peace," Joe said he told Cube. "That’s what I was trying to tell him. Everybody loves you, you could have set this sh*t up and squashed this.”

Joe also said that his friendship with Los Angeles area rapper Mack 10 helped settle the beef.

"That showed people that New York and L.A. could work together, and we became a bond, and we was doing videos together and working," he explained. "I would like to say that eased the tension between the East Coast and West Coast. It needed something like that ... and everybody start working with each other, showing brotherhood and unity.”

Do you think Joe should be given more credit for helping to end the beef?
