It's been two days since Prodigy passed away and his Mobb Deep partner Havoc spoke about it for the very first time with TMZ. Hav said that he initially wasn't worried when he heard that P was taken to a Las Vegas hospital because it was normal for his partner in rhyme to get medical attention for his sickle cell.
"We used to P going to the hospital," he said. "We've been dealing with this for over 20 years ... Like P goes to the hospital, he stays in for like three days, five tops and he get back better, and he's out, so it was nothing to be like 'Oh my God, he's crazy sick.' It's just sometimes he has sickle cell crises."But after the talk of Prodigy's death started to increase, Hav said that he called his road manager to see what was going on and heard him crying. From there, he hung up the phone and remained in a daze.
"And all the whole time, I'm driving with my little five-year-old son that just graduated from kindergarten on our way to go eat somewhere," he explained. "So I'm still on my way to a destination. I'm on the highway, I can't pull over, I can't do nothing. I could've crashed with my kids in the car."Hav added that it's been hard for him to listen to any Mobb Deep songs since P's passing, and he could barely look at any photos of the group either.
"I'm still just fucked up," he said. "I can't even listen to 'Shook Ones' ... I met him when I was 15, I'm 43 right now ... I still can't believe it. I just can't."You can watch Havoc's full interview below.
