In an interview with Hot 107.9's B High, Irv Gotti admitted that he inadvertently made his long-time rival 50 Cent into a superstar by blocking him from record deals.

"I blocked the n*gga until he fell in Em and Dre's lap.  Labels would call me, and I was just the hottest thing, and I was like 'yo, if you f*ck with him, I ain't f*cking with you' and they was like 'We ain't f*cking with him, Gotti, forget it.' I said let some them bullsh*t ass labels or, some of them not bullsh*t ass labels, just without Em and Dre behind them ...  I blocked that n*gga into a dream situation," Gotti said.

He added that if he could do it again, he wouldn't have blocked 50, and 50 would have never had a successful career without Eminem and Dr. Dre.
