Ja Morant has been suspended for eight games by the NBA for flashing a gun at a Colorado strip club. Since the Grizzlies have already suspended him indefinitely, he has three more games before his league suspension is up.
He broke his silence about the incident on Wednesday, May 15, in an interview with Jalen Rose and said he highly regrets his actions.
"The gun wasn't mine," said Morant, who also revealed that he sat down with NBA commissioner, Adam Silver about the incident. "It's not who I am. I don't condone any type of violence, but I take full responsibility for my actions ... I made a bad mistake and I can see the image I painted over myself with my recent mistakes. But in the future, I will show everybody who Ja really is, what I'm about and change this narrative."
“I realized I have a lot of kids who look up to me, even probably some adults,” he went on. "I realized my past mistakes isn’t being a good role model. Got to be better in that area and be more responsible, be smarter and make better decisions.”
Do you think Ja's critics will forgive and forget once he steps on the court and plays well?
