Justin Timberlake has long been criticized for the way he handled Janet Jackson's notorious wardrobe malfunction during the 2004 Super Bowl.
Timberlake was a big part of the malfunction and Justin's silence over the incident rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.
According to Jackson, his silence was her idea.
“We talked once, and he said, ‘I don’t know if I should come out and make a statement,’” Janet recalled in her new documentary. “I said, ‘Listen, I don’t want any drama for you. They’re aiming all of this at me.’ So I just said if I were you, I wouldn’t say anything.
Janet added that Justin has always been a good friend of hers, and she wishes people would stop blaming anyone for the incident.
“Honestly, this whole thing was blown way out of proportion. Of course, it was an accident. That should not have happened, but everyone is looking for someone to blame, and that’s got to stop.” Janet continued, “Justin and I are very good friends, and we will always be very good friends. We spoke just a few days ago, and he and I have moved on, and it’s time for everyone else to do the same.”
Justin publically apologized to Janet Jackson for how he handled the incident last year.
Sounds like it wasn't necessary.
