Right before dropping what may be the verse of the year on DJ Khaled's "God Did," JAY-Z was in court for a perfume lawsuit.

The Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Andrew Borrok ruled that Jigga would be paid $6.78 million (w/interest) in unpaid royalties by perfume company Parlux.

In 2012, Jay Z and Parlux did a deal and by 2013 he released the Magna Carta Holy Grail album and his Gold fragrance.

In 2016, Parlux sued Jigga after the cologne failed, and blamed him for not promoting the fragrance enough. They alleged that he didn't show up to a Macy's event and Good Morning America.

In November, a NYC judge ruled that he didn’t breach his contract, which saved him a $67 million lawsuit.

Jay Z then countersued and was awarded $4.5 million in royalties on February 24.
