Kanye West Says Beck Should 'Respect Artistry' And Give Grammy To Beyonce

When Beck won Album Of The Year at the Grammy's last night, Kanye West went up on stage like he was going to do the same thing to Beck that he did to Taylor Swift in 2009.

However, he didn't, and it played like West was just having some fun.

But 'Ye wasn't just having some fun.

During an interview with E! after the show, Kanye ripped the decision to give Beck's Morning Phase Album of the Year over Beyonce's self-titled LP. He also said Beck should give up his award to Beyonce.

"If they want real artists to keep coming back they need to stop playing with us, we ain't gonna play with them no more," West ranted. "Beck needs to respect artistry and he should have given his award to Beyonce," he said.

You can watch the whole video below. It should be noted that while Beck's win was a surprise, he is considered one of the more creative and talented popular musicians of our era. He also plays multiple instruments and writes all of his own songs, whereas Beyonce doesn't play instruments and works with songwriters. So maybe Kanye should have used a word other than "artistry" when deriding Beck.
