Like Elon Musk, Kanye West is threatening to get into the social media game.
This morning, conservative social media forum Parler announced that Ye has agreed in principle to buy the platform.
“Ye is making a groundbreaking move into the free speech media space and will never have to fear being removed from social media again,” Parler CEO George Farmer said in a statement. “Once again, Ye proves that he is one step ahead of the legacy media narrative. Parlement will be honored to help him achieve his goals.”
George Farmer happens to be married to Kanye's new best friend Candace Owens.
Kanye, who was recently banned from Instagram and Twitter because of anti-Semitic content, also spoke on the move.
“In a world where conservative opinions are considered to be controversial we have to make sure we have the right to freely express ourselves,” West said.
The financial terms of the deal weren't announced. Parler has previously raised $56 million in outside funding.
Now we'll see if Ye follows through with the move or if he pulls an Elon and tries to weasel his way out of the purchase.
