Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly continues to be a polarizing piece of work. When we did a post earlier this month on how he plans to retire the material, a lot of you said that was for the best.

However, he has a big fan in David Bowie. According to Bowie's producer Tony Visconti, the legendary rock star turned to TPAB when he was looking for a new sound for his upcoming album ★ (Blackstar).

"We were listening to a lot of Kendrick Lamar," Visconti says to Rolling Stone. "We wound up with nothing like that, but we loved the fact Kendrick was so open-minded and he didn't do a straight-up Hip Hop record. He threw everything on there, and that's exactly what we wanted to do."
