Kevin Gates Shares His First Thoughts From Prison

In May, Kevin Gates pled guilty to a charge of felony gun possession and was sentenced to 30 months in prison. That sentence followed the six months he had served for kicking a girl during a Florida show.

Gates is being held at the East Moline Correctional Center in Illinois. His projected release date with good behavior is June 2018.

Last night, Gates posted a message to his fans on Instagram.

"A great person is measured by all of the great tests they can undergo and still remain true to who they are," the 'I Don't Get Tired' rapper wrote.
Gates also dropped the video for his track 'What If,' which dropped in April, today.
