Killer Mike spoke to Spin about his career and forthcoming album Michael.
In one part of the discussion, he talked about his first album Monster and how 50 Cent's Get Rich or Die Tryin' affected his level of confidence.
"My first record deal damaged me," said Mike. "It made me afraid, it pulled me back. I hadn't done terribly on the major. I just, you know, I came out the same year as 50 [Cent] selling 10 million f*cking records. I sold, you know, 500,000 ... I was more comfortable in the independent circles."
Michael is scheduled to drop on June 16.
