When a rapper reveals their show rate, they are usually exaggerating. At the very least, they are not revealing their massive expenses.
And Kodak may well be capping when he spoke on his show rate during a discussion with the Full Send Podcast.
But he did draw an important distinction between what you get on a regular tour and what you get when you play a festival.
"Tour is straight, but, you know, you don’t make as much money as you do when you do your one-off shows like festivals and all that,” he said. “You know what I'm saying? I charge $300K for a show, but for a tour, they’ll be like $100 each show date, so it’s like, ‘Man, I’m missing out on my real bag. But it's like, you got to have tour history."
So when somebody like Trippie Redd claims 250K to 400K a show, he is speaking about festivals, not regular tour dates.
(And he's still probably capping.)
