Some rather slick lawyering, no doubt aided by Atlantic Records' largess, has greatly minimized the amount of time Kodak Black has spent locked up for the long list of crimes he has committed in his home state of Florida.

Now Kodak, his legal team, and his label are facing another serious criminal challenge in another state.

Last year, Black was indicted in South Carolina for first-degree sexual conduct after being accused of raping an underaged girl in a Florence hotel room after he performed in the city. The incident happened in February of 2016 and was reported to the police after the victim told her high school nurse that Kodak had forced sex on her. At the time, Black was 18.

Kodak's been banned from the state since, but will be allowed to (in fact, forced to) return to South Carolina in April to stand trial for his crime.

If convicted, he's facing up to 30 years.
