Kendrick Lamar was photographed at Tuesday Clippers Jazz game at the Staples Center with an unusual seatmate.
The older gentleman is Steve Soboroff, who's the Past President and current Vice President of the Los Angeles Board of Police Commissioners.
It turns out the seating arrangement wasn't just happenstance; the pair are pals.

Kendrick has caught some heat over the years for what some consider anti-police lyrics and imagery.
Soboroff spoke on that in an interview with TMZ.
"Do I support anti-police sentiment and speech?" Soboroff told TMZ ... "No, of course not. He expresses through his art form his feelings, and I respect that. And I think he respects – or I hope he would respect – how seriously we take community policing and understanding people’s views." "It's an opportunity to say that the relationships between law enforcement and community starts with mutual understanding, respect for what other people feel, respect for what their experiences are. And everyone should be able to voice their frustrations [...] is a first step to come to a productive solution," he continued.Soboroff went on to say that Kendrick hooked him up with concert tickets for his son.
"I consider him a friend, and I think he considers me a friend," Soboroff said.
