LeBron James gave it his all.

It wasn't enough.

The 38-year-old played over 47 minutes while posting a 40-9-10 line but the Lakers were swept out of the playoffs by the Denver Nuggets, who beat them 113-111 in Game 4 of the Western Conference finals.

LeBron had the ball in the Lakers' final two possession with a chance to tie.  On the first, he hit the side of the backboard with the shot clock running out.

His final shot was swatted away as the game clock ran down, but it may not have made it to the rim if it hadn't been.

After the game, Lebron hinted at retirement.

“I got a lot to think about to be honest,"  he told reporters.  "Just personally with me moving forward with the game of basketball… I got a lot to think about.”

In the past, James has said he wants to stick around long enough to play with his son Bronny, who will be a freshman at USC this coming fall.

If LeBron is hanging it up -- and we doubt he is -- do you think he just passed the torch to Nuggets star Nikola Jokic?
