Yesterday, LaVar Ball pulled his middle son and accused shoplifter LiAngelo Ball out of UCLA.

The freshman had been suspended indefinitely for stealing from a Louis Vuitton store in China during a team trip to the Asian nation.

Since then, LaVar and LiAngelo have been making the media rounds. On The Today Show, LiAngelo admitted to his crime.

“We all went out one night, went to the malls, went to the Louis Vuitton store and, uh, people started taking stuff, and then, you know, me just not thinking and being with them, I took something too,” Ball said.

“And we left thinking we’ll just get away — you know how kids think,” Ball continued. “I didn’t realize ‘til I got back to my hotel, I’m like, ‘That was stupid.’ But by then it was too late. And then sure enough, the next morning, the police came and got us.”

He also spoke on spending about a day in a Chinese jail.

“Oh, it was horrible,” he said of the conditions. “They take your clothes, you wear, like, whatever they have for you, a little jumpsuit or whatever, take your shoestrings and you just sit in a cement cell for however long. It’s just you and all the officers — and they don’t speak English.”

In a separate interview with ESPN, LaVar explained his motivation for pulling his son out of college.

"That's one of the main reasons he went to UCLA is to play basketball. That's his passion," LaVar said. "And for them to prolong [his suspension] and go on and on, it's ridiculous to me."

"I'm going to make him way better for the draft than UCLA ever could have," Ball said, per ESPN's Jeff Goodman. "He's not transferring to another school. The plan is now to get Gelo ready for the NBA draft."

There has been talk that LaVar is trying to get LiAngelo and his youngest LaMelo -- who he pulled out of high school -- a deal to play somewhere overseas.

In terms of LiAngelo, he has a lot of work to do get him ready for the draft.  According to ESPN's basketball guru Adrian Wojnarowski, the 19-year old is not remotely an NBA prospect.
