Lil Uzi Vert Names The Artist Who Was His 'Only Competition'

Lil Uzi Vert was one of the performer's at Pharrell’s Something In The Water festival in Washington, D.C on Saturday and named who he believes was his only competition.

“It was an artist by the name of XXX… Rest in peace to XXX,” said Vert onstage. “I’m not gonna lie, music was a little bit different around that time and different in a good way. That was like my only competition. Every time I dropped, he dropped. Or every time he dropped, I dropped. And he would go number one or I’d go number one. Either way, it was gonna go, one of us was gonna turn it up, so I think you should play some XXX sh*t.”

Vert spoke about XXX on the four year anniversary of his death. The "Look at Me" rapper was shot and killed in Deerfield Beach, Florida on June 18, 2018 at the age of 20.
