Lil Wayne said Nicki Minaj's new Queen album is better than any other LP that's currently out there.
"First of all, I just want to congratulate the beautiful queen, Miss Nicki Minaj for the album, the beautiful album Queen, which is to date in my opinion one of her best albums yet," he said. "I'm not gonna go out there on a limb and say it's her best album, because I can still listen to songs [from] when she was a teenager, and I still hear vocals and lyrics from there that to me, is the best thing she's ever said in her life. So I'm specific like that."
"But to date, it's one of the best albums yet, and I don't mean out of her catalog, I mean period," Wayne continued. "And when I say 'yet,' I mean I haven't heard nothing yet better than what I'm hearing from that woman. She is such a queen. What a great album title. She's spittin' her ass off. She goin' crazy on the album."
Nicki responded to the praise by saying her Young Money boss couldn't have said anything nicer to her.
"I can't believe he did this," she wrote. "I'm so emotional. If you know Wayne, he's very particular about his compliments on rap skills. I've always felt like I was auditioning for him. This is the best thing he's ever said to me. Love you SO MUCH @liltunechi #YOUNGMONEY."
Nicki dropped Queen last week and it has all sorts of buzz. (Even if its sales are a bit soft.)
She had to respond to those who thought her song "Barbie Dreams" was a diss record. And her Nas assisted-track "Sorry" -- which didn't get cleared quite in time to be on the album -- is also generating a lot of chatter
So what do you think about Wayne's comments?
