Lil Wayne had an interesting interview this morning with his old buddy Skip Bayless on Bayless's new show Undisputed.
Weezy touched on lots of topics -- from his feud with Birdman to his relationship with Kendrick Lamar.
He also made a statement about racism that is sure to raise some eyebrows.
Wayne starts off by saying he has "no opinion" on Colin Kaepernick's protest against the national anthem. Then he added he doesn't know much about the Black Lives Matter movement.
So Bayless asked Wayne where he thinks we are in terms of race relations. Wayne sighed, before conceding what was about to say might piss some people off.
They wouldn’t want my answer to represent it because God knows I have been nothing but blessed. My whole path. These 33 years have been nothing but a blessing I have never…and never is a strong word, [I have] never dealt with racism and I’m glad I didn’t have to," Wayne said. "I don’t know if it’s because of my blessings, but it is my reality. So I would have to say not only did I think [racism] was over but I still believe it’s over. But obviously, it isn’t.Wayne went on to explain he doesn't deny there is racism, but he just can't recall ever suffering from it.
What do you think of Wayne's words?
