Lil Yachty Says He's Not A Rapper

Sound maker and master troll Lil Yachty joins the growing list of Hip Hop figures who reject the rapper label.

A an interview with i-D, Yachty explains that while he's always wanted to be a famous performer, he never aspired to be a rapper.

“I am not a rapper. I’m an artist. Once you start thinking like a brand, like you’re a brand, you’re not a rapper," Yachty say in an interview with i-D. "I feel like Diddy’s not a rapper. He’s an entrepreneur. Jay Z is an entrepreneur. They’re brands. I don't know, that’s how I’m trying to be.”
