Luka Doncic Is Suing His Mom To Get Control Of His Name & Number

Luka Doncic wants to trademark "Luka Doncic 77," his name and number.

But his mother, Mirjam Poterbin, is standing in his way.

In 2018, his rookie year, Luka gave his mom permission to trademark his name.

Now he wants his name back.  However, his mom's company has refused to give up the trademark, despite repeated pleas from her son.  So he's suing her.

“I have a lot to look forward to as I continue to grow as a player and a person and it’s important to me to control my own brand and focus on giving back to my communities,” Doncic told NBA reporter Marc Stein.

According to Luka, he's only going to court as a last resort.
