Last October, porn actress Mellanie Monroe accused Maino and a member of his crew of roughing her up first in the NYC club Griffin, and then in a parked car outside of the popular night spot.
Today all charges were dropped against Maino and Richard Holt. And this wasn't because the prosecutors didn't have enough evidence, or because somebody paid somebody else off. It was because Monroe (Kelly Hennigan) made it all up.
A video revealed that, while still in the club, Monroe was the one doing the punching, and was also throwing N-bombs all over the place. Additionally, forensic evidence suggested she couldn't have been assaulted in Maino's vehicle like she said she was. Finally it was Maino who was trying to get the NYPD to separate her from him, not the other way around.
Maino's lawyer Nicole Manini buttressed the court's dismal with this statement:
"Violence against women is an important issue in today’s society,” said . "As a female attorney, I find it completely offensive to actual victims of domestic violence and assault that Ms. Hennigan (aka Mellanie Monroe) would make these allegations against our client knowing that they were not true. False allegations of abuse and assault diminish the severity of such crimes real victims face and increase the fear that they will not be believed should they come forward against their assailants."Maino should be feeling pretty vindicated today.
