Both Diddy and Master P made their riches in the '90s by being Hip Hop music execs.

But one is now in jail and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and transporting sex workers. The other, Master P, seems to be doing well and was named the entertainment ambassador for his hometown of New Orleans.

While speaking about that role on WGNO News, P was asked how he avoided getting into Diddy's kind of legal trouble. [Jump to the 5:19 mark]

"Because I realized I had the same friends I had when I started out," he explained. "I think a lot of these people don’t realize that a lot of these people want to be your friend once you make it. My thing is, this about a family. We stronger together, whatever we have we gone share it with each other ... A lot of people want to meet people and hang out with people, but I realized that people really just want to be with you because now you’re successful so I stick to myself."

P's right about working closely with his family early on. When he started No Limit, his flagship artists were his brothers Silkk the Shocker and C-Murder, plus, his son Lil' Romeo.
