As JAY-Z reminded everyone when he and Nas were beefing, MC Serch owns a good chunk of Nas's early catalog.
But not for long. Serch, who executive produced Illmatic and It Was Written, is looking to sell 100 percent of his stake in all of his Nas related-holdings.
“I have decided to sell all of the rights, including the global rights,” he The 55-year old told AllHipHop. “I started conversations with several companies a few months ago. For 27 years, it has provided my family through good times and bad. Now it’s time for a new chapter.”
Catalog sales have become the new hot thing in the music industry. Future and Chuck D are among those who recently sold their publishing.
