Last week, Meek Mill was supposed to head to the White House for a prison reform summit. In the eleventh hour, he decided not to go. Rumor had it that JAY Z convinced him to pull out. In an interview with Power 99, Meek said that wasn't the case.
"That's not true at all," said Meek. "I just ain't feel good about it. I gotta put my name at risk. I was kinda excited because the bills they're trying to pass are actually helping 4,000 people be released [and] not having women chained to the bed when they're going through labor."
Meek added that it wouldn't have made sense for him to meet with Donald Trump since they're on the opposite side of the issue.
"I was actually excited to be apart of it," said the Philly rapper about the summit. "The day before I just started thinking about it, it's too much criticism. Me and the president, we represent two different things. It's two Americas. I really represent the other side of America. If it's not anything extraordinary that I'm making change for, I don't really want to sit down as of right now."
Do you think Meek made the right call?
