Meek Mill was sent to prison today, where he will serve two to four years for probation violations.

Before being taken to the state facility in Graterford, Pennsylvania, Mill owned up to his violations, which Judge Genece Brinkley cited as a failed drug test, a failure to comply with a court order restricting his travel and two recent arrests, neither of which resulted in charges.

Meek told the court he's suffered from a Percocet addiction and that he fears being jailed will end his music career.

"I may have made a mistake but I never had the intention of disrespecting you," Meek said.

Brinkley, who overruled the prosecution's request for no jail time, told Meek that she has been trying to help him since 2009 and added that Meek had "basically thumbed [his] nose at [her]" the whole time.

Meek's lawyers have vowed to appeal the decision and have suggested Brinkley has a personal vendetta against Meek.

A Change.org petition is circulating to have Pennsylvania governor Tom Wolf free Meek.
