As many people have done since JAY-Z dropped his 4:44 album, Meek Mill commented on the line in the song 'Kill Jay Z,' where the Brooklyn rapper told people to stop holding stacks of money to their ear.
Stunters like Boosie Badazz and Future seemed upset about the line, but Meek said Jay is dropping some needed wisdom, and the backlash stems from a generation gap in Hip Hop.
"No, I don't think [the line] was too much, but do what you do" he said. "Our jeans is tighter than JAY-Z's jeans. We wear off-white. Hov rocking Tom Ford. It's just two different things, but at some point you want to put some Tom Ford on. You want to put the money down, invest, get some credit ... He kicking real reality rap. You might go on Instagram and see Meek Mill got six foreigns, [but] Meek Mill got good credit too. We ain't put that part on Instagram. He's just teaching people the game. If you running around with a $100,000 in your pocket, for what? You got the money to your ear for what?"Do you agree with Meek or do you side with people like Boosie and Future who came at Jay for the line? You can see him talk about the 4:44 album at the 5:35 mark.
