Meek Mill Granted Appeal

Meek Mill's road to freedom may have nothing to do with the controversial judge who gave him two to four years for probation violations.

Earlier this week, we learned that the police officer who arrested and testified against Meek when he committed his original crimes was on a list of corrupt cops compiled by the Philly DA.

Reginald V. Graham, who recently retired, arrested Meek in 2007 on drugs and guns charges and was the only person to testify against him. Meek's latest probation violation conviction was still on those decade-old charges.

Meek's lawyers contend Graham lied under oath about Meek. Now, in light of the corrupt cop list revelation, Meek has been granted what is called a post-conviction relief appearance in April.

In addition to Graham's inclusion on the list, Meek's lawyers say Graham's testimony was contradicted in sworn statements by two former Philadelphia police officers, Jeffrey Walker and Gerold Gibson.

Walker and Gibson were both kicked off the force for corruption so they won't be the greatest witnesses.

Still, Meek may now have a compelling case for release.
