Mekhi Phifer was one of the stars of 8 Mile, which celebrated its 20th anniversary in November.

He also gets name-dropped in "Lose Yourself", Eminem's Oscar-winning song on the film's soundtrack.

But he won't be reprising that role ... ever.

TMZ caught up with Phifer and asked him if there would ever be an 8 Mile sequel.

"Sometimes it's best to leave it at one, once you make a classic, no need to fool around," the 48-year old said.

He added that there has never been any discussion of a sequel, as far as he knows and that if there was neither him nor Eminem would want to be in it.
