May 4, 2019, will go down in hip-hop history.
The Wu-Tang Clan now have an official district in Staten Island, NY, right on the corner of Targee Street and Vanderbilt Avenue.
The district is in the same Park Hill area where Wu-Tang grew up.
Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, U-God, and more joined up to celebrate the announcement and unveiling of the street sign, while New York City Councilwoman Debbie Rose had this to say.
This is a great day where we have an opportunity to honor our own hometown heroes, the young men who put Staten Island on the map internationally
They overcame all types of challenges, to not only become rap artist and hip-hop artist but to inspire and challenge the music world.
Congrats Wu-Tang Clan!
Thank you to all from near and far who joined us today to official create the Wu-Tang Clan District here in ParkHill / Stapleton. @WuTangClan #WuTangClanDistrict pic.twitter.com/48DMzqEESg
