Kanye West has never denied he uses a lot of collaborates in his music.
One of them is apparently Nick Cannon.
The Wild N Out host broke down working for Kanye as a writer during a Breakfast Club interview. Then he explained why he has more respect for Ye as a lyricist than he does for Drake, who also uses writers.
“I ain’t never wrote no smashes, but I’ve been in the Kanye camps early on,” he tells Charlamagne. “I was there doing ‘Gold Digger.’ I wrote the bar for Kanye, ‘We don’t need to stunt/I make black history every day, I don’t need a month.’ That was me. That’s why I love Kanye and his movement because he knows how to make great music, great songs. That go doesn’t get into the art form. He’s like yo, ‘If somebody say something dope, let’s get to it.’ Being a part of that process, I’ve learned so much from him in making songs because anybody can get in front of a mic and spit bars, but to create a song, that’s a true talent.”Cannon goes on to say that while 'Ye doesn't always write his own bars, he's seen West be a great lyricist off the dome when he does.
He contrasts this to Drake.
Nick says he respects Drizzy greatly as an overall artist. But he doesn't think Drake can come up with great bars on his own.
Cannon starts talking 'Ye and Drake and about the eight minute mark.
