In 1994, Nicki Minaj's now-husband Kenny Petty plead guilty to first-degree attempted rape after a woman now referred to as "Jennifer" accused the-then 16-year old of forcing her into his bedroom and forcing his penis into her vagina.
He served four years for the crime.
Flash forward to 2019. Petty neglected to alert the sex offender registry when he moved out to Cali with Nick, and in June he will stand trial for federal charges of failing to register as a sex offender.
The Daily Beast reports Nick Minaj, her Barbz, and Petty family associates have been harassing and intimidating Jennifer in front of the trial
"Minaj went on to claim that Petty had been wrongfully accused of attempted rape at the age of 15 [it was 16], and that his victim had actually written a letter to the judge back then, in 1995, asking to recant her statement—only to reverse course after she found out she could go to jail for 90 days. “But white is right,” Minaj said.
"But Petty’s victim, who has come forward using only her first name, “Jennifer,” is not white; her mother is white and her father is Black. Both she and Petty were 16 years old at the time of the assault, which she reported immediately. She says she never submitted a letter recanting—but alleges that associates of Minaj and Petty’s spent months last year harassing her to do so, going so far as to offer hundreds of thousands of dollars on their behalf. At one point, Jennifer says, she also spoke with Minaj herself."
As online harassment from Nicki's stans and Petty's associates ramped up, Jennifer says she was forced to move three times in 2020.
She reported the abuse from the Petty camp to the Feds, who say they are investigating.
Jennifer also said she’s been in contact with U.S. Marshals, who recently told her that an investigation of the Pettys is underway and that they’ve found evidence. A source familiar with the conversation confirmed this, and said that the authorities called the investigation a “high-priority case.”
