Usually when we hear a rapper brag about being the first to do something, it's Soulja Boy, but recently it was Nicki Minaj.

On Wednesday, October 16, while speaking in New York at a Vogue’s Forces of Fashion event, Nicki said she was the first artist to name her fanbase.

"Before l had a record deal, my fans were making a moment for themselves on Twitter," she explained. "I had already given them a name. In fact, do you know that all these artists that give their fans names now, when I started calling my fans the Barbz, there were no rappers naming their fans ... I didn’t think it was something that would spread to the Hip Hop community at all. But it doesn’t matter, because the Barbz are still superior."

The thing is, Lil' Kim called her fans the beehive on the 2003 song "Tha Beehive," off her La Bella Mafia album.

You can see some of Kim's fans remind Nicki of that below.

Why do you think Nicki would claim to be the first artist to name her fanbase?
