Paul Rosenberg is stepping down as CEO of Def Jam, a role he had held since 2017.
Rosenberg, who shot to fame as Eminem manager, will now concentrate on his management company Goliath Artist and Shady Records, his joint venture with Eminem.
Sources say the parting is amicable.
It would make sense for Rosenberg to circle back to Eminem. When he took the Dej Jam job, Em had gone almost five years without an album and rarely made public appearances. Since Rosenberg took on the Def Jam CEO responsibilities, Em's dropped three albums, has been doing interviews, and was a surprise performer at this year's Oscars.
Rosenberg's tenure at Def Jam was highlighted by number one albums from Kanye West, Justin Bieber, and Logic.
