During Donald Trump's nutso rally last night in Minneapolis he kept his musical selection regional by playing Prince's smash hit "Purple Rain" to his crowd of screaming midwestern Stans.
That was in violation of a deal the President's lawyers and Prince's estate hashed out last year which forbid Trump from using the late legend's music.
President Trump played Prince’s “Purple Rain” tonight at a campaign event in Minneapolis despite confirming a year ago that the campaign would not use Prince’s music. The Prince Estate will never give permission to President Trump to use Prince’s songs. pic.twitter.com/FuMUPzSWOe

While it's generally hard to sue a Presidential candidate for using your music without permission unless they put it in a campaign ad, this explicit agreement not to use Prince's tunes going forward opens the door for a winnable lawsuit.
Who knows, Prince's estate may end up forcing Trump to pull a Birdman.
