The success of Migos sophomore album Culture has solidified Quavo's place as one of the top young emcees in the game.
But it wasn't always that way for the 25 year old. In fact, when he made his first mixtape in high school, it was met with widespread mockery
“I passed my first CD out and I got laughed at," he said during a masterclass Migos hosted this weekend at New York University. "Everybody laughed at me ... The first intro was like ‘Yeah, this that intro, this that intro, this that intro, welcome to the show.’ So they were saying that the whole time, like every day in school ‘This that intro’ and just laughing at it. But I was in the cafeteria one day, and Offset walked up on me like ‘Yo, that mixtape you just dropped bro? I like it. Put me in the studio bro, let me work with you.’ And I looked at him, and he was the only one in the school that was really rocking with me at the time, that’s on God.”Takeoff, who is younger, joined the duo soon after and they became the Migos.
Sometimes it just takes one person who believes in you.
