Real Friends? Kanye Did Get Extorted By Cousin Over Sex Tape

"I had a cousin that stole my laptop that I was fuckin' bitches on. Paid that nigga 250 thousand just to get it from him," Kanye West rapped on 'Real Friends'.

According to another one of 'Ye's cousin, that's a completely true story.

Keith Franklin has told the Daily Mail that around 2012 Kanye gave a laptop to a family member as a gift. That family member gave it to another family member -- West's cousin -- who found a video of 'Ye having sex with a "fair-skinned black woman."

That cousin then lawyered up and shook 'Ye down.

“He put together a small team him and his attorney went after Kanye, and to show that they meant business they leaked a little information publicly to let it be know they indeed had the footage,” Franklin said. “The family member tried to keep a low profile but it was not long before Kanye’s team learned who it was that had the sex tape.”

Franklin believes the incident did a good deal of harm to 'Ye's mental state -- which has certainly been in the news lately.

'At the end of the day if a member of your family had taken you for a quarter of a million dollars - so they can complete their own ambitions - who can you trust within your circle," Franklin said, adding the incident caused a huge rift among West's family members.
