Rich Gang Rapper BTY YoungN Killed In Hollygrove

Rich Gang rapper BTY YoungN was murdered in the Hollygrove section of New Orleans last night.

YoungN (Desmone Jerome) was shot multiple times in front of a gas station at around 11 PM, and was pronounced dead at the scene. There are no suspects at this time.

The 27 year old had a promising career ahead of him, and had recently won a NOLA Music Award for “Breakout Artist of the Year.”

"He was a very uplifting individual," his cousin Glenn Bell told NOLA after hearing of the murder. "A very positive individual. Very impactful. Rap is his career, not was. He's going to live on."

The exact details of his affiliation with Rich Gang are unclear, but in November he was featured in a viral video in which Birdman took him on a tour of his home and showed off his gold toilet. The video led to speculation Baby was grooming BTY to replace Lil Wayne.

A death notice was posted on his Facebook page.
