Things got litigious between 50 Cent and Rick Ross in December when Fif sued his rival for using his hit, 'In Da Club,' on his Renzel Remixes mixtape.
50 claims Ross violated his trademark by putting his tag on the track -- and then using the mixtape to promote his retail album Black Market.
Ross responded to the $2 million suit yesterday in court by demanding the judge toss it. He argues that he released Renzel Remixes for free and, even if he didn't, 50 doesn't own the rights to the beat for "In Da Club" and therefore can't claim damages.
Additionally, Ross argued that the suit was "pay back" for 50 losing seven million dollars to Ross's Baby Mama in the notorious sex tape lawsuit which ultimately bankrupted Fif.
The judge has yet to rule on Ross's request.
