Rubi Rose Says She Throws Up Blood Signs Because 'It's Cute'

These days, rocking gang colors and throwing up gang signs has become just as fashionable in Hip Hop as sporting a gold chain.

Sometimes, rappers get called out for faking their gang affiliation, which they usually deny.

But Kentucky rapper Rubi Rose did the opposite and admitted she's not really a Blood, despite wearing a lot of red and throwing up signs. 

She explained why she does those things during an interview on the Big Facts podcast.

"I'm not actually a gang member. I know that's kind of like a joke on the internet," she said. "I was around gang members and I just like throwing their gang signs up because it's cute. I love the color red. I'm in no way a gang member, though."

"I moved to Atlanta and I started being around, like, Bloods ... It's cool," Rubi continued. "I know, like, what be going on isn't cool. But the colorful clothing and the hand signs, just being cool with the music. That stuff. Like, that stuff is cool to me. I hadn't seen that before."
