According to Drake, his relationship with tennis legend Serena Williams aided him in the midst of his beef with Meek Mill.
Hs was talking to Serena after he dropped his first Meek diss, and she was the one to tell him that he needed something timeless -- not a regular diss -- for when he went for round two.
Drake says Serena Williams is the one that said if he was gonna drop a second Meek Mill diss ("Back To Back"), he had to "finish it."

"I was with Serena at the time. And we had been talking a lot about her and [Maria] Sharapova going back and forth over the years. And she had made this comment to me, and she was like, "Well, look, if you're going to go again, you know ... you gotta finish it. She's a top competitor. So, she's like 'You gotta finish. I'm talking like, done, over. And it's going to be something that everyone he's with has to hear. You can't do some sht that's for the moment and then goes away.' She kinda put this battery in my back, funny enough," Drake explained in his Rap Radar interview..
It was about then Drake got a beat from Daxz, a producer he had never worked for before. He asked 40 to speed it up and that became "Back To Back".
"I just went into demon mode," Drake said of the Grammy-nominated diss track.
