Snoop Dogg's 2016 album Coolaid received strong reviews across the board, so why didn't radio support it more?
That's what the rap legend asked during a round table discussion on Hip-HopDX. Snoop also said that whenever he makes quality music the DJs ignore it, but when he makes music that isn't so great they play it.
"See man, that's why I be hating," he said. "I hate when I do good work and it goes ... and then when I do work that's so-so they like to promote it and push it and I don't be feeling good about that."In another part of the discussion, the Dogg Father said that DJs don't really care if a song is good or not, they care whether it fits the current style of music.
"A lot of DJs wouldn't take that chance and say, 'Well, I'ma play this Snoop Dogg record, because I know it's dope and it's fly,'" he explained. "[Instead, they would say], 'I can't play it, because it don't go with everything in the club.'"Why do you think radio and club DJs didn't support Snoop's Coolaid more?
